Marjan Simčič

Philosophy:

We believe in our wines, because we believe in our grapes. Simčič wines are produced from grapes that are cultivated in our own vineyards located in the very heart of Goriška brda.

History:

In 1860 Anton Simčič bought a farm in Medana and began vine growing and winemaking.
He soon opened an inn and a store in the village and also managed his own wine shop in Vienna.

Vineyards:

The family owns 24 hectares of vineyards, some older than 55 years, both on the Slovenian and on the Italian side of the Brda region (Collio).

Cellar:

If you think of the vineyard as a body, then our cellar is the heart of Marjan Simčič’s farm. We produce 130,000 bottles of wine per year, divided in three different lines.

Location:

Whereever you come from, you will be welcomed in the heart of Goriška brda and Collio, where quality has no borders. Half of our vineyards lay in Slovenia and half in Italy.

People:

Our vineyards have been in the domain of Simčič family for many generations, which all cared for their well-being. Simčič family started its winegrowing history in the 19th century. We are the fifth generation, which deals with viticulture and with other related activities.
